Hope and Resliency
You don’t have to look very far past your own backyard to see signs of hope and resiliency, even when faced with a worldwide pandemic. Bannerman Community and everyone who is a part of it has shown time and time again that we care about our neighbours. Our gratitude for our neighbours at this time is immense and we want to capture just a small part of what we’ve seen over the last few months:
- Bannerman Elementary School goes above and beyond the call of duty
- Mothers are celebrated in Bannerman
- A Day of Action connects all of us while we are apart

Celebrating Community
Bannerman Community is defined by its heart. Our League serves to foster community spirit and make pathways for neighbourly connections. We have so many unique things to celebrate which truly showcase what makes Bannerman Community home.

BannermaniaBannermania is an annual neighbourhood celebration that really shows our community spirit. Many community-based businesses and partners come together to give our neighbourhood a block party for the ages!
Thank you to all our volunteers for Bannermania 2019! |
Christmas Craft FairOur Holiday Craft Fair has been maintained for over 20 years and brings together local home made crafters. We love seeing neighbours support our local entrapeneurs! We put out calls for vendors in September of every year.

Little LibrariesEight Little Libraries were crafted and hand-painted with love by our own community members in the summer of 2016 and distributed throughout our neighbourhood. These have become a great resource for sharing knowledge among our children.

Bannerman in Action |
Espalier Garden |
In 2019, Bannerman in Action was conceived in an attempt to bring neighbours together by introducing those who needed some assistance with a 2-3 hour task with neighbours who wanted to lend a helping hand. The event was such a success - identifying 21 neighbours who wanted to meet those in their community who has specific skills and talent, and then recruiting a whopping 80 volunteers who thrive on community spirit. It has since become an annual event!
The 2020 Bannerman in Action changed with COVID-19 but we were still able to show our Bannerman Community Spirit through garden flower boxes and our Mural of Hope in which community members painted tiles that made our mural. The Bannerman Community Garden has been a point of interest in the media. We include an espalier orchard of fruit trees along the fence line
